10 Songs I’m Loving This Month

10 Songs I'm Loving This Month

Last month I shared a post featuring ten catchy songs that I loved and this month I thought I’d do the same. As previously mentioned I adore music. I love various genres and I listen to lots of music every single day. Without sounding dramatic, I don’t think I could live without it because it acts as an escape for me. Anyway, enough with the chit chat and onto the music!

Skillet – Feel Invincible

The first of the songs I’m loving this month is Skillet – Feel Invincible. Not heard of Skillet? They’re an American Christian rock band from Memphis who formed in 1996. The band consists of husband and wife John and Korey Cooper, drummer Jen Ledger and Seth Morrison on lead guitar. The song Feel Invincible was released back in 2016. The song has a super infectious melody and incredibly catchy lyrics. The song its self is a kind of rock, metal and pop mash up. The chorus reads “You make me feel invincible. Earthquake, powerful. Just like a tidal wave. You make me brave. You’re my titanium. Fight song, raising up. Like a roar of victory in a stadium. Who can touch me ’cause I’m (I’m made of fire). Who can stop me tonight (I’m hard wired). You make me feel invincible.” Personally, the song has a special place in my heart because it reminds me of someone very special to me. Give it a listen below.

Carly Rae Jepsen – Run Away With Me

The second of the songs I’ve been loving this month has been Carly Rae Jepsen – Run Away With Me. Again this isn’t a new song but I absolutely love it and have done for a long time. It just so happens that I’ve fallen back in love with it this month. I love Carly Rae Jepsen. There are not many songs of hers that I don’t like and I feel as an artist she is very underrated. Run Away With Me compared to a lot of Carly’s other songs is less cutesy and just edgier. It’s a euphoric song with a great saxophone beat that makes the song. My favourite lyrics of the song? “Hold on to me, I never wanna let you go, ooh. Over the weekend we could turn the world to gold, ooh.”

Disturbed – Down With The Sickness

The third of the songs I’m loving this month is another song that isn’t exactly new, Disturbed – Down With The Sickness. The song was released back in 2000 but doesn’t sound aged in the slightest. The song features a famous “ooh-wah-ah-ah-ah” sound performed by lead singer David Draiman and is an awesome nu metal tune. The song is said to be about metaphoric abuse with powerful lyrics such as “Looking at my own reflection. When suddenly it changes. Violently it changes (oh no). There is no turning back now, You’ve woken up the demon in me.” This song isn’t for the faint-hearted as there is some colourful language but I personally really, really like it.

f(x) – Lower

The fourth of the songs I’ve been loving this month is f(x) – Lower. Not heard of f(x)? They’re a Korean girl band consisting of Amber, Victoria, Krystal and Luna. They’ve been around since 2009, although technically Lower doesn’t feature all members of the band. Instead, it features two members, Amber and Luna. The song its self is a progressive house track and just a great track to listen to when you’re chilling.

BTS – Don’t Leave Me

The fifth of the songs I’ve been loving this month is BTS – Don’t Leave Me. I’ve spoken about BTS a fair bit recently, I even reviewed their Love Yourself: Her album. Don’t Leave Me is one of their newer songs but unlike most of their songs, this one is sung in Japanese rather than Korean. The song features on their Japanese Face Yourself album and also serves as the original soundtrack for the Japanese series Signal. The song is a mix of electronica and rap. I particularly like the way Jimin, Jungkook and Jin’s voices sound on the track and I also love J-Hope’s second line in the song.

BTS – Euphoria

The sixth of the songs I’ve been loving this month is another track from BTS, Euphoria. Euphoria is the first song from the Love Yourself: Tear album which drops on the 18th May. The song has been released as a teaser much like Serendipity was before Love Yourself: Her was released. Euphoria is a solo by Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS. The song has a very synth-pop and deep house vibe to it and is said to be a connector song between the new mini album and the previous one. The song is super lovey-dovey, dead sweet and really rather catchy. Give it a listen.

Taylor Swift – Delicate

The seventh of the songs I’ve been loving this month is Taylor Swift – Delicate. Now I never in a million years did I ever expect to feature Taylor Swift on my blog. Why you ask? Well, to be honest, she’s just not really my cup of tea. However, I really do like Delicate. The song its self is an electropop love song that is said to be about “what happens when you meet somebody that you really want in your life and then you start worrying about what they’ve heard before they met you.” There is just something so beautiful about the song. Check it out.

SHINee – Colourful

The eighth of the songs I’ve been loving this month is SHINee – Colourful. This song was released back in 2014 but it is still an absolute tune. Colourful is a super bright and pretty damn cheesy song. However, I absolutely love it. Everything from the late Jonghyun’s stunning vocals to Key’s little rap verse and even the sickly sweet lyrics such as “I think you’re magical (Hey) I think you’re wonderful.” The song just puts me in such a great mood.

EXO – Lightsaber

The ninth of the songs I’ve been loving this month is EXO – Lightsaber. Released back in 2017 this song was a Star Wars collaboration project. Hence the title of the song. The tune is a sort of EDM track with a hint of dubstep thrown in for good measure. As for the meaning behind the lyrics, it is said to be about a guy being the girl’s lifesaver as well as her lightsaber. Thus brings her out of her darkness. The song is catchy and the video makes an interesting watch too. Check out the song below.

Marilyn Manson – Tattooed In Reverse

The tenth and final song I’ve been loving this month has been Marilyn Manson – Tattooed In Reverse. Now if you’re easily offended I really wouldn’t recommend listening to this because there is some strong language. The music video is also a bit creepy and out there, pretty much what you’d expect from Marilyn Manson, to be honest. Anyway, the song it’s self is sort of Glam Rock with an extremely catchy chorus. The song is said to be about not having any regrets. With lyrics like “I’m unstable, I’m not a show horse. I can’t be bridled, of course. I’m outstanding, I’m unregretted. I got tattooed in reverse. Woah, in reverse.” It becomes more clear about the meaning of the song.
