Getting my monthly box excites me greatly, I wait eagerly for it to arrive to see what goodies you've picked out for me but in all honestly Glossybox, you're letting me down. Back in July I was impressed with my Seaside Splash box as it contained some wonderful little gems like the two Sleek Pout Paints which I highly enjoyed (I even purchased another after trying) The Anatomicals Spray Me Misty came in handy for the scorching weather and the Ciate polish and Alterna Haircare products weren't bad either. Sure the Coola Organic sunscreen wasn't the best as it was far too orange for my skin, but I forgave you.
Then we had the August Hightflyers box which contained the Emite Eyeslash curlers which have now become a key part in my makeup routine and the Oceane makeup remover which is handy for on the go. I wasn't too keen on the green Jelly Pong Pong eyeliner but hey that's personal taste I guess. As for the Tresemme product, I simply couldn't use it as the sample just wasn't big enough for my long locks. And then we have the Juicy Couture perfume sample. I didn't really enjoy the scent and nor did I enjoy receiving it as I could have easily got it free from somewhere else.
Then we had the September London Edition box which contained another perfume sample, this time it was pretty decent sized Elizabeth Arden scent which in all honestly I really, really enjoyed and am now considering purchasing despite the slightly hefty pricetag. Then we had some Eyelure lashes, I'm not really a big lash wearer but I am partial to a set every now and again so they'll get used. The Toni and Guy hair serum you picked for me got some use and then we have a Rimmel Cream Blush which I quite like and am happy with but you also gave me ANOTHER eyeliner. This time from an American brand (you know despite being in the London Edition Box) But the one thing that really rattled my cage about this box was how some people got a HD Blush/Bronzer instead of the Rimmel product. And some people had it even worse, instead of getting something full size, they received a tiny sample of Nipple Balm, how fair is that? I mean some people get way more value/better products in their box than others. I understand each box is personalised for the individuals skin/hair preference but when some people get a £4.00 blush, others get a £17.00 blush and some don't even get a full size product, to me it is disgraceful.
Anyway, after this box, I was hoping a little improvement and then I received my October "Dark Romance" box. First of all, there is nothing dark or romantic about the box. So I fail to see why such a name has been used. Anyway, I received yet another perfume sample that didn't tickle my fancy, this time Katy Perry's Killer Queen fragrance. In my box there was also a bottle of MeMeMe's Cherubs Blush Tint, which I find useless and ridiculous watery. Harmony Cleanser, which I am actually looking forward to mixing with my foundation. Some imPress nails, which are pretty and I'm keen to try and last but not least, a decent (but only a quarter full) bottle of Monu's Illuminating Primer. Need I say more?
Basically Glossybox, as a paying customer, I feel like your boxes are going down hill. I frequently like to view your Facebook page for little previews of what my boxes could be like but after you hyped up the October box so much posting pictures of nails and lips, lets be honest here, we were all under the impression that there would probably be an Autumn shade of lipstick/gloss or a nail polish in our box. To receive what we all did, I personally feel very mislead. I'd also really quite like it if you stopped throwing perfume samples in my box, unless they are decent sized because to be quite honest, I don't pay £10.00 a month for a box to contain something I can get for free. Don't get me wrong Glossybox, I still love you. I just wish you'd stop with the random misleading names, be fair to everyone and stop with the useless samples that are easily obtained for free (yes, perfume!)
So, you've got until Christmas to impress me or I'll sadly have to cancel and probably head over to another beauty box company. I'm hoping you'll take my comments on board and pull out all the stops and maybe start to include product to wow us all. (I'm thinking something like the NARS product you popped in your first ever Glossybox, just saying!)
