Want to know my thoughts on the December 2013 Glossybox?
Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Nude Lip Gloss (4ml) Full size RRP £12.00 for 8ml
I’m always after new nude lip products so I was pleased to see this dinky fellow in my box. I’ve not heard of Beautiful Movements but from a little research I can tell you that it’s a cruelty free mineral make up range co foundered by ex Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and Aberdeen businesswoman Laura McComiskie. I’ve had a look at the range briefly and I must say their Velvet Dawn blush looks lovely and surprisingly isn’t expensive. Despite trying to save my pennies up, I am pretty tempted to place an order with them to see what the rest of the range is like.
Wilkinson Sword Intuition Naturals Razor (Full Size) RRP £6.49
A razor? You read correctly. Personally feel it’s a little odd but I’ll get some use out of it. I’ve not tried this kind before so it will be interesting to see the results and see if it lives up to it’s sensitive claims. I’ll be sure to keep you all updated so if you’re interested, keep your eyes peeled.
Maybelline New York Colour Tattoo 24hr Eye Shadow in Everlasting Navy (Full size) RRP £4.99
I was super duper happy to see a colour tattoo in my box! I already own 4 shades (On and On Bronze, Permanent Taupe, Metallic Pomegranate and Pink Gold to be precise) I absolutely love the quality of them and use them frequently both on their own and as bases for powder shadow. The shade I received was Everlasting Navy which basically describes the shade very well. Of course it’s not the most wearable shade and looks a tad daunting but I’m going to play around with it and maybe even pull it off as say a liner.
Seche Nail Lacquer in Takes Chances (14ml Full size) RRP £9.95
I’ve not tried any Seche products but I’ve heard very good things about the brand so I was pleased to see one of their polishes in my box. The shade I received is an absolutely stunning glossy crème violet. It’s so different to any other polish I have in my collection and can see it becoming a favourite of mine.
Lipsy London Glam (2ml) Full size RRP £25.00 for 50ml
Normally I literally hate receiving perfume samples in my Glossybox but I guess considering the rest of the contents was fairly good, I can let them off. Lipsy London Glam is a quite fruity, floral, very sweet scent. I haven’t yet decided whether it’s quite me or not but no doubt I’ll do a follow up post to let you know how I get on with it.
Despite really quite liking the box and it’s contents, it’s not festive so I don’t know why it’s called Festive Treasures. Misleading box names seems to be a running issue with Glossybox and I’m not too sure why they even bother slapping them on the boxes because it comes across as quite misleading to potential customers. For example, if I were new to Glossybox and spotted them promoting their Festive Treasures box on Facebook or Twitter I’d expect to see festive products in my box like say Red shaded products, glitter, sparkles, not a razor, purple nail polish and a navy eyeshadow. Having been with Glossybox for quite some time now, I’ve learnt not to take the box names too seriously as nine times out of ten, they’re totally unrelated to what I receive in my box. Anyway, rant over.
