December 2013 Glossybox - Festive Treasures | Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Nude Lip Gloss | Wilkinson Sword Intuition Naturals Razor | Maybelline New York Colour Tattoo 24hr Eye Shadow in Everlasting Navy | Seche Nail Lacquer in Takes Chances | Lipsy London Glam
Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Nude Lip Gloss (4ml) Full size RRP £12.00 for 8ml
I’m always after new nude lip products so I was pleased to see this dinky fellow in my box. I’ve not heard of Beautiful Movements but from a little research I can tell you that it’s a cruelty free mineral make up range co foundered by ex Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and Aberdeen businesswoman Laura McComiskie. I’ve had a look at the range briefly and I must say their Velvet Dawn blush looks lovely and surprisingly isn’t expensive. Despite trying to save my pennies up, I am pretty tempted to place an order with them to see what the rest of the range is like.
Wilkinson Sword Intuition Naturals Razor (Full Size) RRP £6.49
A razor? You read correctly. Personally feel it’s a little odd but I’ll get some use out of it. I’ve not tried this kind before so it will be interesting to see the results and see if it lives up to it’s sensitive claims. I’ll be sure to keep you all updated so if you’re interested, keep your eyes peeled.
Maybelline New York Colour Tattoo 24hr Eye Shadow in Everlasting Navy (Full size) RRP £4.99
I was super duper happy to see a colour tattoo in my box! I already own 4 shades (On and On BronzePermanent Taupe, Metallic Pomegranate and Pink Gold to be precise) I absolutely love the quality of them and use them frequently both on their own and as bases for powder shadow. The shade I received was Everlasting Navy which basically describes the shade very well. Of course it’s not the most wearable shade and looks a tad daunting but I’m going to play around with it and maybe even pull it off as say a liner.
Seche Nail Lacquer in Takes Chances (14ml Full size) RRP £9.95
I’ve not tried any Seche products but I’ve heard very good things about the brand so I was pleased to see one of their polishes in my box. The shade I received is an absolutely stunning glossy crème violet. It’s so different to any other polish I have in my collection and can see it becoming a favourite of mine.
Lipsy London Glam (2ml) Full size RRP £25.00 for 50ml
Normally I literally hate receiving perfume samples in my Glossybox but I guess considering the rest of the contents was fairly good, I can let them off. Lipsy London Glam is a quite fruity, floral, very sweet scent. I haven’t yet decided whether it’s quite me or not but no doubt I’ll do a follow up post to let you know how I get on with it.
Despite really quite liking the box and it’s contents, it’s not festive so I don’t know why it’s called Festive Treasures. Misleading box names seems to be a running issue with Glossybox and I’m not too sure why they even bother slapping them on the boxes because it comes across as quite misleading to potential customers. For example, if I were new to Glossybox and spotted them promoting their Festive Treasures box on Facebook or Twitter I’d expect to see festive products in my box like say Red shaded products, glitter, sparkles, not a razor, purple nail polish and a navy eyeshadow. Having been with Glossybox for quite some time now, I’ve learnt not to take the box names too seriously as nine times out of ten, they’re totally unrelated to what I receive in my box. Anyway, rant over.
What did you receive in your Glossybox?

Aha i don't see why they called it "Festive Treasures" either, you're right on that one! but those seem like nice products nonetheless 🙂 i'm yet to get mysef a subscription of a box as there are so many, even here in Portugal ,it's a growing business but i'm not convinced yet !

    • Yeah, still not sure why they bother slapping irrelevant names in the boxes but hey ho 🙂 I think the box is pretty good xo

  • Naomii Carol Hainan

Pretty cool box! Love that you got a Maybelline Colour Tattoo 🙂

  • Kerry Hunter

Hmm still don't know whether I'm pleased or disappointed that I missed out on this one haha

I also thought it was a bit off to get the razor in a beauty box! I gave it a go, and the first use I was blown away by how good it was. After that though, all of the conditioning soapy stuff cracked off, and now I'm left with a normal razor. Waste of money! x

    • Really odd isn't it? I absolutely loved the first use, it felt so gentle but I've also experienced the cracking issues which is a shame. I was tempted to buy the replacement heads but I think I'll save my pennies as no doubt the cracking will occur again xo

Ohhah i want to the the E.L.F Lips Exfoliator a go!!

    • I shall be doing a in depth review of the ELF Lip Exfoliator so keep your eyes peeled 🙂 xo

Totally agree – this isn't in the least bit festive! The Seche polish is a lovely shade, though, and I'm looking forward to seeing how you get the Color Tattoo to work for you 🙂

    Jess xo

    • I shall do posts on each product and get some swatches put up at some point so you can see how pretty the shades are 🙂 xo

  • Daniella Maire

I got the exact same as you….. I wasn't too sure on the nail polish at was too 'gloopy' but everything else was brilliant I thought 🙂
I just followed you btw x

    • I must admit the polish is on the gloopy side but I've found applying in quite thin layers more or less does the trick xo

  • Jannatul Rahamoni

    Nice box ☻

  • OPI Addict

That Seche polish looks beautiful! 🙂

I made a post about this also and am unsubscribing when I do receive my Jan box! Not festive in the least haha, think they're more concerned about their other boxes that fetch more money. Lovely blog hun xo

    • I've unsubscribed too, they're rapidly going downhill and in my opinion, really not worth the month xo

This just made me excited for the next xmas box even if this was rubbish! x
