Astral Original Face and Body Moisturiser*
The first product to make it into my 2016 favourites is Astral Original Face and Body Moisturiser. This is a product that I’ve fallen head over heels in love with. If you’re someone with very dry skin, seriously I urge you to try this. Astral Cream is basically a thick moisturiser. It is very affordable yet extremely effective. I use the cream both morning and night and I’ve definitely noticed a huge difference in my skin. My skin is much softer, smoother and my dry areas have improved fantastically. I’m not the only one who loves Astral Moisturiser, Marc also loves the product and uses it to tackle the dryness present in eczema on his hands. Astral is definitely one of the best products that I’ve discovered in 2016.
Amelia Moss Rose Water*
The second product to make it into my 2016 favourites is the Amelia Moss Rose Water. This product is excellent for use as a toner after cleansing as it absorbs any excess oil on the skin. Plus it really helps to tackle spots and blemishes due to its slightly astringent formula. I find this rose water absolutely ideal when I’m going through a breakout and I am a big fan of the delicate yet beautifully floral scent.
Amelia Moss Barbary Fig Oil*
The third product in my 2016 favourites is the Amelia Moss Barbary Fig Oil. This is an oil unlike any other. In the past, I’ve tried the famous nourishing Argan Oil but this Barbary Fig Oil is seriously better. Why? Well, firstly I personally find this Barbary Fig Oil way more nourishing which gives my skin a super soft texture.
However, the main thing that really set this apart from other oils is the fact that it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy. I absolutely hate that greasy film feeling on my skin but with this oil it absorbs really nicely into the skin without that awful slippery texture. The oil is very lightweight but very effective. Some days I use the oil on its own, other days I pop a drop or two into my moisturiser. Either way, the oil is highly effective and definitely the best facial oil that I’ve tried this year.
Superdrug My Little Star New Mum Nipple Cream
The fourth product to make it into my 2016 favourites is the Superdrug My Little Star New Mum Nipple Cream. This might sound like a random favourite but this is extremely effective for softening the lips. This cheap and cheerful nipple cream has been more effective at tackling my cracked lips than any lip balm. I simply apply a teeny tiny amount to my lips and they’re instantly soothed and the cream works its magic by keeping them nice and soft. At a mere 99p you simply cannot go wrong.
W7 Argan Eyes Mascara
My fifth 2016 favourite goes to the W7 Argan Eyes Mascara. This is a super affordable argan oil infused mascara that gives the illusion of shiny, longer and healthier lashes. The mascara has a wet consistency but works amazingly well at separating the lashes without clumping them. The mascara adds amazing length and definitely works better for me than some of the way pricier brands.
Technic Colour Fix Concealer
The sixth product in my 2016 favourites is the Technic Colour Fix Concealer. I paid just 75p for this cheap concealer and it has received so much love over the year. This concealer is essentially a light to medium coverage product. It isn’t that great for covering blemishes but it is amazing for concealer undereye circles. It’s not thick nor runny but it brightens the undereye area really effectively and sets its self really well.
Benefit High Beam*
The seventh product in my 2016 favourites is Benefit High Beam. This is a satin pink coloured liquid highlighter that works wonders with my pale and cool toned complexion. I’ve used this on my cheeks, brows, chin and on my nose and it is highly effective. It gives the skin a gorgeous dewy glow and a stunning sheen. I personally like to use it under my foundation for a natural yet wide awake look and on top of foundation for a more intense highlight for special occasions.
MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in Pink Shimmer
Another highlighter to make it into my 2016 favourites is the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder in Pink Shimmer. This is a pink shimmer highlighter that provides the skin with a beautiful micro shimmer finish instead of a really strong highlight. This gorgeous micro shimmer highlighter works amazingly well on my cool pale complexion and cost me just £3.00 so it is certainly a bargain.
W7 The Naughty Nine Mid Summer Nights palette
The ninth product to make it into my 2016 favourites is the W7 The Naughty Nine Mid Summer Nights Palette. This is a MAC Burgundy Times Nine dupe that contains nine Autumn/Winter friendly shades. The palette consists of deep mauves, browns and burgundy colours that work fantastically for creating some stunning seasonal appropriate looks. The shadows aren’t the most amazing quality ever, but they are quite good. However, the shade selection is great if you are on a budget and cannot afford MAC’s pricey offering. I love the shades in this palette and have had a fantastic time experimenting with all the different looks that I was able to come up with throughout the year.
Large Affordable AliExpress Eyeshadow Brush
The tenth product in my 2016 favourites is the Large Affordable AliExpress Eyeshadow Brush. I got this brush in a cheap professional eyeshadow brush set from good old AliExpress which cost me around £3.00. Anyway, the brush I’ve loved using is a large eyeshadow brush that is amazing for packing colour onto the lids. The brush is super soft, well made and washes really well. It picks up shadows nicely and is a brush that I reach for more than other more expensive brushes in my collection.
Milani Rose Blush in Tea Rose
The final product in my 2016 favourites is the Milani Rose Blush in Tea Rose. This is a gorgeous rosy pink shade that comes with the most adorable embossed design. The blush adds a healthy wash of colour to the cheeks along with an ever so slight sheen which gives the skin a beautiful finish without looking too over the top. The blusher lasts very well on my skin and the blush its self feels smooth and lightweight on my skin.
