5 Fantastic Complexion Products That I Always Reach For
After sharing my recent post on five eye makeup products I love, today I thought I’d talk about five face products I absolutely love and reach for a lot. Now it is good to keep in mind that I do reach for other products regularly. However, I’d definitely say these are my five most reached for complexion products overall.
Freedom Professional Makeup Fixing Spray
The first of the five complexion products that I always reach for is the Freedom Professional Makeup Fixing Spray. This is a very affordable setting spray that retails at just £5.00. This product is ideal for baking makeup and for just setting everything in place nicely. I use the spray when I’ve applied all my foundation, concealer and powder. The spray takes away that powdery finish and makes my base look healthy and natural. Not only that, the spray also helps to increase the wear time of my makeup too.
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation
The second of the five complexion products that I always reach for is the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation. I use this foundation in the shade 010 Light Porcelain and it works really well with my skin tone. The shade is fairly light and cool toned. In terms of the coverage, I’d say it is a light to medium coverage foundation. It feels nice and lightweight on the skin and covers redness or discolouration really well. The only thing I will say is that I find this foundation hard to build up. However, for everyday wear when I don’t want full coverage this foundation is ideal.
Technic Colour Fix Concealer
The third of the five complexion products that I always reach for is the Technic Colour Fix Concealer. This concealer is the perfect cheap brightening undereye concealer. It doesn’t work that great on blemishes but trust me, under the eyes, it works fantastically. When I first purchased this concealer it was a mere 75p. However, it has recently gone up in price to 95p. That being said, it is still a total steal and a product I love. The shade I use, Light, works wonderfully on my pale complexion and blends beautifully with the help of my Beautyblender. If you’re looking for a full coverage concealer this definitely is not for you. However if you are looking for something ideal for everyday wear that gives a really natural finish, I recommend checking this out.
Benefit Fakeup Concealer*
The fourth of the five complexion products that I reach for regularly is the Benefit Fakeup Concealer. I’ve been using this product for what feels like forever. Not long back I mentioned the concealer in my 3 concealers to try post so it is obvious that the product is still receiving love from me. Much like the Technic concealer, this is great for brightening the undereye area. However, this is much more of a hydrating undereye concealer. The concealer its self is made up of a pigmented core that is surrounded by a hydrating outer balm.
When applying this concealer it just glides on effortlessly and feels nice and smooth on the skin. The shade I use, Light, is quite yellow toned and not something I’d usually opt for. However, because yellow counteracts blue tones in the skin this ends up working nicely for the undereye area. The coverage it provides the skin with is light to medium and it blends really well just with fingertips. I like to reach for this concealer on days where I’m looking quite rough as I find the concealer really does a cracking job at making me appear more awake.
Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer
The fifth and final of the five complexion products that I always reach for is the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer. Now when I first tried this concealer I wasn’t that impressed with it at all. In fact, if you read my post all about primers I actually stated that I didn’t think the product was worth its price tag. However, over the past, I’d say three months I’ve completely changed my mind on this product. I tried it again and I noticed a significant difference in my pores after using it.
Perhaps my skin has changed? Perhaps my previous tube was a dud? Who knows! What I can tell you is that this product is a smashing pore minimising primer that leaves the skin feeling nice and smooth. I just pop a pea-size amount of primer onto the back of my hand and them dab it all over my face blending it with my fingers. It makes applying my foundation so much easier and definitely improves the overall look of my base makeup. It also comes in particularly handy when I want a really flawless finish as it blurs my pores nicely. I for one am over the moon that I decided to give this product a second chance.
