I’m Shannon, a 23-year-old from the North East of England. I am the owner of Raspberrykiss, fiancée of Marc, beauty and skincare fan, foodie fanatic and lover of K-Pop. I created my beauty and lifestyle blog Raspberrykiss way back in 2009. It sounds like a long time ago but in reality, it has flown over. Back then I created my blog as an outlet to rant and rave about beauty and skincare products but today Raspberrykiss has expanded to include both beauty and lifestyle content. On my blog, you’ll find posts featuring some of my favourite brands like Soap and Glory, Makeup Revolution and Zoflora. If you’re a reader with a question or a PR looking to get in touch be sure to head over to my contact page.
If you’re new to my blog I thought I’d share some random facts with you. My life isn’t exactly what I’d consider exciting but hey ho. Anyway, here are my little facts:
I can read Hangul and speak a little Korean. My Korean isn’t the best but I’m getting there. I basically pick up little bits and pieces from listening to the likes of BIGBANG, GOT7, BTS, Blackpink and 2NE1. Oh and from watching the odd episode of Running Man.
Speaking of music I love K-Pop but in general, my music taste varies quite a bit. I’ll listen to pretty much anything. Some of my non-Korean favourites include Macklemore, Shania Twain, Owl City, ABBA, Fall Out Boy and Basement Jaxx. Some of my all time favourite songs? There are too many to name but do check out my little playlist below if you are interested.
In terms of TV, I am still mourning the loss of Pretty Little Liars. Although admittedly I did think the ending was a letdown. Other things I like to watch include Jane The Virgin, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Stranger Things and Trial and Error.
I’ve been with my lovely other half Marc for almost 6 years. We are engaged to be married but we’ve not yet set a date or anything. All I know is that it will be a super small do with only our nearest and dearest there. Without sounding too soppy and over the top sickly sweet, Marc is my best friend and someone I cannot imagine my life without.
Something not many people know is that I have a birthmark on the back of my neck and on my upper back and shoulders. It’s a vascular birthmark which means that is formed due to abnormal blood vessels under the skin. It’s most commonly called a Salmon Patch or a Stork Mark. Many babies are born with this type of birthmark on their face and it soon fades. However, for me, mine never did fade. My birthmark doesn’t cause me any pain or complications but when I was younger I did wish it wasn’t there. I used to always wear clothing that covered it up because people, mainly adults used to ask me silly questions like “Are your parents hitting you? Who has smacked you?” It was questions like that which made me paranoid and self-conscious. However, nowadays I don’t really care. My birthmark is just part of me.
