April 2016 Favourites
Makeup Revolution Pro F105 Contour Brush (link) *
The first product to make it into my April 2016 Favourites is the Makeup Revolution Pro F105 Contour Brush. Ever since receiving the Makeup Revolution 9 Piece Amazing Brush Collection (link) I have been obsessed with this brush. If you’re someone who likes a very soft contoured look I really recommend getting your hands on this. The F105’s small shape and fluffy texture makes this great for those who are maybe new to contouring, want to create something a little less bold or for those who are just after a great face brush. Because this brush isn’t super dense it means that you can really blend out product to a super natural finish. The texture is extremely soft and so far I’ve not experienced any shedding what so ever. Another plus is that this brush is meant to be a dupe for both the Sigma F40 and the MAC 168. Whilst I’ve not tried those brushes I can certainly see the similarities in terms of appearance.
Makeup Revolution Pro E103 Eyeshadow Blending Brush (link) *
Another Makeup Revolution brush I’ve been loving is the Pro E103. This brush is a blending brush that is soft in feel and very effective. The brush is slightly dense but allows you to really work shadow, giving that thoroughly blended finish to any look. Another thing I’ve been using this brush for is contouring. Yes, I’ve been using this to contour the sides of my nose to give that slimmer appearance. This brush is the perfect size for this and because the brush is so good at blending I can easily achieve a very soft yet defined look.
Colorsport 30 Day Brow Tint (link) *
The third product to make it into my April 2016 Favourites is the Colorsport 30 Day Brow Tint. Now you may or may not know that I am a qualified beauty therapist. Why is that relevant? Well basically because I’m very used to carrying out brow tints, both on others and on myself. I used to be a big fan of using blue-black on my brows (Don’t worry, my brows never looked blue! Blue black is essentially a more noticeable black which is ideal for those wanting really noticeable definition) Anyway, in more recent times I’ve been more of a natural brow fan so when I received the Colorsport 30 Day Brow Tint in Dark Brown I was pretty much over the moon. The little kit contains pretty much everything you need to tint the brows with. Inside you get your dye, developer and an applicator. You basically mix the two products together and apply to the brows. The whole process only takes around 5 minutes and in the end you are left with pretty great looking brows. As I received the shade Dark Brown the colour didn’t give my brows a drastic makeover but it did add a slight darkness to them. What I love is that the end result is extremely natural looking and the formula is basically foolproof. I first tinted my brows at the very beginning of March and they lasted fairly well, after around the three-week mark I did start to notice them going back to their original shade but it wasn’t anything that majorly bothered me. Around three weeks ago I tinted my brows for a second time and again, I’m happy with the results and I’ve still got lots of product left for further applications in the future.
Superdrug My Little Star Large Cotton Wool Pads (link)
And lastly to make it into my April 2016 Favourites are the Superdrug My Little Star Large Cotton Wool Pads. This might seem like a really odd and random thing to include but I’ve been loving these for removing my makeup on an evening. Previously I used the small round cotton pads to remove my makeup and what not but I find one of these gets the job done as opposed to using lots of little round ones. The quality of these pads is top-notch and they’re fairly reasonably priced at £1.49 for 50 or two packs for £2 at good old Superdrug.
