August 2016 Favourites
Technic Contour Stix (link)
The first product to make it into my August 2016 favourites is the Technic Contour Stix. I mentioned this product recently in my 10 Newly Discovered Products I’ve Recently Tried blog post. This product is basically made up of three crayon like pencils. The pencils come in the shades Dark, Light and Highlight and the idea is that you can sculpt, contour and highlight the face. These crayons are surprisingly creamy in texture and work really rather well. They’re quick to use and blend perfectly with the help of a Beauty Blender. Considering they are very cheap they are awesome for the price. Check out my Technic Contour Stix Review for my full, in-depth thoughts on these sticks.
Technic Colour Fix Concealer (link)
The second product to make it into my August 2016 favourites is the Technic Colour Fix Concealer. This concealer comes in a squeezy tube complete with a doe foot applicator. I opted for the shade Light which is the palest shade in the range which works very well for my skin tone. The concealer provides the skin with light to medium coverage. On spots and blemishes, it performs pretty poorly but it works terrific as an under eye concealer due to its brightening effect. The concealer also has a nice consistency, it’s not too thick nor too runny which makes it great to blend. W7 The Naughty Nine Mid Summer Nights Palette (link)
The third product to make it into my August 2016 favourites is the W7 The Naughty Nine Mid Summer Nights Palette. This eyeshadow palette consists of nine very Autumn like shades. The palette is said to be a dupe for the MAC Burgundy Times Nine Palette with the shades sharing similarities. I’ve really enjoyed using this palette as I find the selection of colours is definitely up my street. In terms of quality, the shadows aren’t flawless, they do have some cons but as a whole considering their price they are good. At less than £3 this palette is a total steal. For more info on the palette, check out my W7 The Naughty Nine Mid Summer Nights Palette Review.
Bourjois 24H Colour Edition Cream To Powder Eyeshadow in Or Desir (link)
The fourth product to make it into my August 2016 favourites is the Bourjois 24H Colour Edition Eyeshadow in Or Desir. This eyeshadow has a cream to powder formula and is not the usual eyeshadow product that I fall in love with. When it comes to cream shadows I’m a big fan of the Maybelline 24HR Colour Tattoos because they provide good colour payoff, longevity and their shade range is beautiful. With this shadow, I find it is much less pigmented. Instead of giving me awesome colour payoff I find it provides my lids with a light but pretty dusting of shimmer. Because of this, I find Or Desir great for adding on top of other, more pigmented shadows. Or Desir appears as a beautiful peach toned gold making it perfect for day to day wear.
Superdrug My Little Star New Mum Nipple Cream (link)
The fifth and final product to make it into my August 2016 favourites is the Superdrug My Little Star New Mum Nipple Cream. Now firstly I haven’t been using this on my nipples, instead, I’ve been using it on my lips. If you suffer from dry lips, seriously check this out. This 99p tube is one of the best lip conditioning treatments I’ve ever tried. To use the cream I simply apply this cream to my lips right before I head to bed. Now it is quite greasy, I’m not going to lie but it really does work. When I wake up I find my lips feel really soft and soothed. Recently I’ve loved using this stuff but I think when the colder weather comes, I’ll be reaching for it even more. Check out my Superdrug My Little Star New Mum Nipple Cream review for more info on this great product.
