Fantastic Makeup Products For Halloween 2016
As Halloween fast approaches I thought I’d share some of the makeup products that I recommend for the spooky day. Now I’m not really one for creating weird and wonderful looks for Halloween, instead, I like to basically vamp up my makeup. This means that I like to use darker shades, colours that are a bit more “out there” and I generally like to experiment a little more. Here are the products I recommend for achieving such looks.
Makeup Revolution Give Them Nightmares Eyeshadow Palette
The first of the makeup products for Halloween that I recommend is the Makeup Revolution Give Them Nightmares Eyeshadow Palette. This palette contains a gorgeous selection of deep greens, blues and purples. I personally find that the shades in the palette really compliment my green eye colour. I also find the shadows to be of good quality and nicely pigmented. The palette contains 12 shimmer shadows and 6 mattes. In all honestly, I don’t often reach for the matte shades. I’m not a huge matte lover as I find shimmer shades easier to work with but the selection in the palette is pretty good.
Nicka K Long Lasting Eye Shadow Base in White
Then next of the makeup products for Halloween that I recommend is the Nicka K Long Lasting Eye Shadow Base in White. I actually did a full review on this white eyeshadow base not long back. Basically, it is a little pot of pigmented primer. The finish is matte and the colour is highly pigmented. The reason I recommend this product is because it intensifies eyeshadows extremely well. It just makes the colour more vibrant and rich. It also increases wear time nicely due to providing a great base for shadows to stick to.
Bourjois Color Edition 24H Cream To Powder Eyeshadow in Prune Nocturne
The third makeup product for Halloween I recommend is the Bourjois Color Edition 24H Cream To Powder Eyeshadow in Prune Nocturne. I mentioned this product recently in my Autumn Makeup blog post. It is a beautiful sort of purple toned cranberry shade that contains glitter and shimmer running throughout. The product applies like a cream but sets to a silky powder finish. I’ve been experimenting with this shade and I’ve found combining it with a black shadow gives a really effective smoky eye with a beautiful twist.
Technic Colour Max Lipstick in Deep Purple
The fourth makeup product for Halloween I recommend is the Technic Colour Max Lipstick in Deep Purple. This affordable lipstick from Technic Cosmetics is identical to MAC’s Rebel but a fraction of the price. The colour is a berry pink shade that can be applied lightly for a berry stain effect or normally for an intense colour. The colour gives a vampy look with an elegant touch of pink. It is one of my favourite lipstick shades at the moment. Compared to Rebel it is a little more purple toned and slightly glossier.
Lancome Grandiose Liner*
The last makeup product for Halloween that I recommend is the Lancome Grandiose Liner. This is a liquid liner that has an intense black colour and a fairly budge proof formula. The reason why I recommend this for Halloween is because you can create some gorgeous detailed eyeliner looks. The applicator is flexible enough to create intricate designs but the bendable handle also allows for maximum control. If you’re thinking of creating some more daring Halloween looks you could even use this for things like cat whiskers and faux hairs.
