Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in Girls Best Friend Review
As you probably know by now, I absolutely love Makeup Revolution products. Recently I’ve been enjoying both the Makeup Revolution E104 Eyeshadow Brush as well as the Makeup Revolution Anti Bacteria Brush Cleaner. Another product I’ve been using recently has been the Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in Girls Best Friend. Now this isn’t a lipstick I’d probably purchase myself. However, I was nevertheless over the moon when Makeup Revolution very kindly sent me it to try out.
Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in Girls Best Friend is a very bright pink lipstick. It is an extremely fun shade and definitely not one for the faint-hearted. The shade has a very neon look about it and in the tube, it appears matte, however, on the lips it provides a beautiful shiny finish. The lipstick contains no shimmer or shine, just a great glossy finish. In terms of the pigmentation, Girls Best Friend isn’t stupidly pigmented. Instead, it has slightly sheer but buildable colour payoff which I find very easy to work with. I’ll be honest, although you can wear this lippy toned down if you’re used to “safe” shades, I don’t think this lipstick is for you.
A creamy textured lipstick that lasts surprisingly well
As for the formula, this lipstick has a beautifully creamy and soft texture. This means that it applies very well with minimal pulling or tugging. Many would assume that because of this, the lipstick wouldn’t last long on the lips. Wrong, after an hour or so the shine, does wear off but you are still left with great colour. After around the three to four hour mark I do start to notice wear, however, the lipstick leaves a beautiful stain behind which I really like. Unfortunately, though there is one thing about Girls Best Friend that I dislike. That is the fact that although the colour works with my skin tone, it makes my teeth appear really rather yellow. As I’m super self-conscious of my teeth, unfortunately, I just feel that it stops me from reaching for the shade.
My teeth worries aside, I do like Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in Girls Best Friend, just not as much as other lippies. Perhaps I just need to try another shade from the range. In terms of the packaging, there is no denying it is the bomb dot com. The lipstick is housed in a luxurious rose gold package which is bang on trend. Not only is it stunning, it is also effective and gets the job done. At just £3.00 and available to purchase from Superdrug. This is ideal the ideal product if you are in need of a bright and fun pink lipstick shade to add to your collection.
