NYC Expert Last Lip Color Lipstick In Blue Rose Review
NYC Expert Last Lip Color Lipstick In Blue Rose isn’t a new lipstick. Nor is it something I’ve recently discovered. In fact, I’d say it has been a firm favourite of mine for at least two years. Although I have mentioned the lipstick in a few posts, I realised that I’ve never actually shared a dedicated post on the super pretty and affordable colour, so today I thought I’d do a full-on review of NYC Expert Last Lip Color Lipstick In Blue Rose as I feel it definitely deserves it.
Now if you have happened to have spotted NYC Expert Last Lip Color Lipstick In Blue Rose mentioned here on Raspberrykiss before, you’ll have probably spotted it looking a little different to the image above. That is because the lipstick now comes in different packaging. Before the packaging was square, black in colour and had a clear plastic lid. It was forever driving me mad as I always seemed to hit the lipstick bullet when removing the lid. Having said that, I persevered with it rather than buying a new lipstick.
Anyway, as you’ve probably worked out, I finished the entire lipstick. This is a somewhat a rare occurrence for me so I think it is safe to say this is one of my all time favourites. So, the lipstick now comes in colourful pink plastic packaging which more or less matches the actual colour of the bullet. It still has a plastic lid but I find this packaging is SO much better than the packaging before as I’m yet to experience any mishaps.
Possible MAC Snow Orchid dupe?
In terms of the shade, I cannot stress how truly beautiful NYC Expert Last Lip Color Lipstick In Blue Rose actually is. If you like MAC Show Orchid but you are looking for a dupe. Perhaps something more affordable or even prettier, I seriously recommend picking this up. The lipstick currently retails at a mere 99p on Fragrance Direct so it is a total and utter steal. If you are a fan of fuchsias, this is something special. It is a little darker than a typical fuchsia lipstick but it has this incredible blue sheen to it. In the tube, it does come off as a purple, but don’t be fooled by this. When on the lips the lipstick is slightly vibrant. Thanks to that gorgeous blue shine, it also really makes the teeth appear brighter and whiter.
The pigmentation is also really impressive for something so affordable, one swipe and you’ve got great colour payoff. As for the formula it is really creamy and glides onto the lips effortlessly yet it lasts surprisingly well. The only thing I will say is that you really do need to thoroughly exfoliate the lips when using this as it can settle into those fine lines as time goes on which can look slightly ageing so this might be an issue, particularly for those with mature lips. Having said that, if you make sure to prep your lips before applying, I find the lipstick sits well. And when it fades, it does so gradually without leaving patches of colour behind.
A unique and pretty shade
All in all, I really do love NYC Expert Last Lip Color Lipstick In Blue Rose, it is such a unique and pretty shade but at the same time it is affordable and excellent value for money. If you want to get your hands on your very own blue toned pink lipstick, head over to the Fragrance Direct website. This is where you can get the lipstick for as cheap as possible. Another NYC product I recommend checking out is the NYC Eyeshadow Quad in Best Of Broadway.
