Perfect Spot Fighting Range? The Body Shop Tea Tree Range
When it comes to The Body Shop I’ve found myself loving many of their products over the years. Take The Body Shop Shower Gels for example, they’re incredible and not too expensive either. Another thing I love is Tea Tree products. Over the years I’ve tried many different products including the Australian Bodycare Cleansing Face Mask. So can you imagine my sheer excitement when The Body Shop got in touch and asked if I wanted to try out their Tea Tree Range? I was over the moon. I was very kindly sent three products from the range so I thought I’d share my thoughts on the products that I’ve been trying out.
The Body Shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash Scrub Mask
The first product in The Body Shop Tea Tree Range that I’ve tried out is The Body Shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash Scrub Mask. You’ve probably already worked this out but it is a Tea Tree Wash, Scrub and Mask in one product. The product is packed full of scrub particles which exfoliate the skin by buffing away those pesky dead skin cells on the surface. The Body Shop state that this is a daily facial exfoliator but for me, I found I achieved great results just by using it as a weekly product. When used more frequently I found my skin became red and a little irritated. This is because for my skin it was too abrasive for more frequent use.
Great for getting rid of dead flaky skin
In terms of the exfoliating ability the scrub gets rid of flaky skin very well. I also found this product highly effective for essentially giving the skin a good clean. Which in turn really helps to keep breakouts and blemishes under control. One thing that did surprise me was the feel of my skin after applying the product. Normally with a lot of Tea Tree products and scrubs, my skin can feel a little dry after use. Almost as if it is in desperate need of a layer of moisturiser. However, after using The Body Shop Tea Tree 3-in-1 Wash Scrub Mask, my skin felt smooth, looked shine free but did not feel dry in the slightest.
When it came to using the product as a mask I found my skin to feel a little drier. This was probably due to the fact that the clay in the mask dried and set. After use as a mask, my skin felt more matte and cleansed so if you’re someone with an oily complexion, I highly recommend this out. In terms of the price, the product retails at £7.00 for 100ml of product. I found to achieve the best results only a pea size amount of product was required. Because of this I personally think this isn’t badly priced as it is sure to last me well.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
The next product from The Body Shop Tea Tree Range that I’ve been trying out has been The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil. I’m a huge fan of Tea Tree oil in general as I find it amazing for treating breakouts. Obviously, I was over the moon to receive this little bottle to help me on my skincare journey. This particular Tea Tree oil is said to be grown in the foothills of Mount Kenya. The Body Shop are said to sustainably hand-harvest our their Community Trade organic tea tree leaves within 12 hours. This means that their Tea Tree oil is said to be one of the most potent and purest.
When it comes to the way it works it has the same wonderful antibacterial properties as other Tea Tree oils that I have tried. It works equally as well as other brands and really helps to treat breakouts and prevent new blemishes from occurring. The product retails at £8.00 for 10ml of product. This might seem steep. However, with pure Tea Tree oil you really only need a small amount to achieve good results meaning that this isn’t too badly priced. Obviously, there are slightly more affordable alternatives like the Metique Tea Tree Oil but this isn’t too extortionate.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Cleansing Facial Wash
And the last product from The Body Shop Tea Tree Range I’ve tried out has been The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Cleansing Facial Wash. This green coloured gel-like face wash is definitely a favourite of mine. Particularly for a refreshing morning cleanse. If you are after a cleanser to help keep blemished skin under control, look no further. This Tea Tree facial wash not only cleanses the skin well and helps to treat spots but it also has the most amazing cooling effect on the skin. This makes the product super refreshing and ideal for morning use.
The only downside for me is that this product is really quite mattifying. As someone with some dry areas of skin, this isn’t the best. However, for those with oily or shiny complexions, this could be very beneficial. If you are someone with Acne or very blemish prone skin this could potentially be a very effective product for you. Those with really dry skin who suffer from breakouts? I’d stick to a targeted treatment by using the Tea Tree oil on areas that require treatment and a more suitable cleanser for your skin for use all over.
