Veil Cover Cream Review
Over the years I’ve tried many concealers. My favourite light to medium coverage concealer is the Technic brightening concealer. However, when it comes to full coverage concealer, Veil Cover Cream definitely wins hands down. Whenever I suffer a breakout or I have extremely dark circles, I reach for the high coverage cream.
Veil Cover Cream is basically like no other concealer I’ve ever tried. The concealer is extremely highly pigmented which means that it can cover practically anything. I personally like to use the concealer to cover up blemishes, undereye circles and redness. However, others conceal birthmarks, Vitiligo, Rosacea and even tattoos with the camouflage cream. The way Veil Cover Cream works is because it contains more pigment than the average concealer. This is because it is a camouflage cream that was originally designed to conceal post-operative scars.
A confidence boosting concealer
The product has been around since 1952 after being developed by Mr Thomas Blake, a forward thinking and inspired cosmetic chemist. For me Veil Cover Cream isn’t just a concealer, it is a confidence boosting product. This is the case for many who use the concealer as it provides amazing coverage that other concealers simply lack. Because of its impressive pigmentation, this also means that only a small amount of product is required for excellent results. This, in turn, means that the concealer is very economical. Veil Cover Cream retails at £19.95 for 10g and £34.00 for 45g. For many this may seem expensive but it lasts a long time. I find a 10g jar lasts me well over a year which is fantastic as the cream has a 3-year shelf life.
In terms of the colour range, Veil Cover Cream is available in over 40 different shades. This means that there is a shade for almost every skin tone. My skin is quite pale and when it comes to high street concealers the lightest shade is always way too dark. But with Veil Cover Cream I find the shade Natural Medium is the perfect match for my skin tone. Another great thing is that all the colours can be mixed together if required. As Veil Cover Cream only sells via their online website trying to pick a shade out of over 40 different colours can be a challenge. But fear not, Veil Cover Cream have handy concealer sample kits available to purchase. This means that you can find your perfect match in the comfort of your home.
High coverage with a natural looking finish
In terms of the texture, Veil Cover Cream has a super soft texture. The concealer blends effortlessly into the skin giving you a high coverage, but natural looking finish. In terms of lasting power, it lasts all day long. However, to get the best coverage you really need to prep your skin. This means starting with a fresh, oil-free base. By prepping the skin the highly pigmented cream will last well. To further increase longevity and ensure that the product is waterproof, you should also check out Veil’s finely milled finishing powder. When teamed up with the Veil powder brush this gives the best finish possible. Seriously, this stuff sets the area so that it is virtually budge proof. It’s amazing.
As mentioned above Veil Cover Cream is available in jar form, however, there are also concealer palettes available too. The Veil Demonstration kits contain a wide range of shades all in one place. This means that they’re perfect for makeup artists or skin camouflage enthusiasts. Veil products are also fragrance-free, contain SPF and are not tested on animals. Veil also have a great skincare range available which includes the Veil Witch Hazel Cream and Veil Rich Nourishing Cream.
