Want to know my thoughts on MAC’s Mineralize Eye Shadow in Young Punk?
What MAC Say
“Baked minerals refined into a powder formula provide exceptionally sheer and lightweight application. Colour builds lightly, layer after layer, without heavy coverage.”
The MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow in Young Punk retails at £17.00 and is available from the MAC website and at MAC counters.
The packaging is quite sturdy and houses the product well.
MAC describe Young Punk as a mineralize black with pinkish purple pearl. In the pan the shadow looks beautiful. When on the shadow mainly transfers as black with the addition of slightly chunky pink and purple glitter. Although a little on the chunky side, the glitter isn’t gritty but is however prone to fall out when used dry. When used wet, I found zero fall out which was pretty good. As for the pigmentation, when dry it’s a bit “meh” but when used wet, it’s super pigmented and 10x prettier. As for the wear time, it wore for around 5 hours when wet before fading occurred a few hours later I noticed creasing began. When used dry it lasted around 3 hours before fading began and creasing soon after. The shadow feels very lightweight when on and I found it to blend well.
- Effective packaging
- Gorgeous shade
- Fab pigmentation when used wet
- No fall out when used wet
- Feels lightweight when on
- Blends well
- Quite pricey
- Pigmentation when used dry is “meh”
- The chunky glitter that the shadow contains is prone to fallout when used dry
- Wear time could be better
I think when used dry this shadow is a little bit of a let down and I much prefer it when used wet. Having said that, overall it wasn’t that impressive and I think at £17.00 it’s overpriced and I therefore won’t be purchasing any other Mineralize Eye Shadows from MAC in the future but Young Punk is a gorgeous shade and I will continue to use it from time to time.
