Review | Miners Fresh Faced Powder + Giveaway | Translucent Ivory

What is it?
It’s a pressed powder that claims to be totally matte. It can be used as a setting powder or even on it’s own. It’s said to give you a fresh faced look which is supposed to last long than ever… Oh and it’s paraben free!

My thoughts
The Miners Fresh Faced Powder is currently available in three shades, Translucent Ivory, Soft Sand and Warm Honey. Translucent Ivory is great for those with pale complexions (myself) Soft Sand is more for those with a light-medium skin tone and Warm Honey looks fab for those with a darker medium skin tone, I guess it could even be used as a contouring bronzer. Personally I hope that Miners come out with some darker shades for those beauties with deeper complexions as they’re really missing out. I’m very pale skinned and quite often the lightest shade is way to dark for me but I must admit, Miners get my shade spot on. Much like their Fresh Face Foundation in Ivory, Translucent Ivory works really well on me. I like to apply the product with my trusty ELF Studio Powder brush which works a treat at buffing the powder into the skin creating a splendid finish. This powder is completely matte so it does an excellent job at eliminating shine and keeping those oily areas under control and thankfully doesn’t oxidise in the process but instead evens out the skin tone nicely. I found the powder lasted around 6.5 hours before I needed to reapply which for £3.99 isn’t bad at all. The powder also provides a good bit of coverage too. It’s not going to cover every blemish and imperfection but it works when popping over sheer-medium coverage foundation. In terms of texture the powder is silky which allows it to blend well and prevents it from looking horrible and cakey.

I think this powder is fantastic. I honestly cannot fault it. It’s one of the best powders I’ve tried and still can’t quite believe it’s only £3.99. Come pay day, I will be placing a Miners order to stock up on the Fresh Faced Powder to make sure I don’t run out any time soon.
