Want to know my thoughts on the NYX Single Eyeshadow in Golden?
What is it?
The NYX Single Eyeshadow in Golden is a pressed powder shadow that claims to pack a punch when it comes to colour pay off and is supposed to blend easily. I’ve also heard it’s a good dupe for MAC’s Amber Lights but I can’t really comment on it as I do not own the Makeup Artist Cosmetics product. Golden is also one of over 50 shades in the NYX Single Eyeshadow range that consists of many formulas such as matte, glitter, frosty, shimmer, sheer and metallic.
I purchased the NYX Single Eyeshadow in Golden for just £2.99 on the East End Cosmetics website.
The eye shadow comes in a tiny square compact which is super easy when it comes to both storing and travelling. It’s also effective and protects the eyeshadow nicely.
In the pan Golden looks like a very orange, bronze shade. When I first set my eyes on the shade, I was a little unsure as I wasn’t really confident that it would work with my skin tone however when on, I find it to be more of a super shimmery deep gold shade and more wearable than I expected it to be. Of course this shade would look AMAZING on those with warmer skin tones but I find I can just pull it off with my pale, cool complexion. In terms of pigmentation, it’s honestly hands down one of the best shadows I’ve come across. The pay off is so good on it’s own and unreal when teamed up with a primer. As for the texture, it’s super buttery, soft and blends very well. The only downside is that it is prone to fall. As for wear time I find it lasts a good 7 hours without primer and with it lasted around the 10 hour mark which was impressive.
- Effective packaging
- Highly pigmented
- Buttery and soft in texture
- Blends well
- Lovely deep golden shade
- Great lasting power
- Prone to fallout
Although it’s prone to fall out, there’s no denying that this shadow is utterly gorgeous and the quality is pretty fantastic for £2.99. Think it’s safe to say that NYX have really impressed me!
