W7 The Honey Queen Honeycomb Blusher – £3.99
I love the W7 boxed blushes and bronzers, so much so that I own all of them. My favourites are definitely Honolulu and Africa. One boxed blush/bronzer that they recently released which I realised I didn’t own was The Honey Queen which is said to be similar to and a cheap alternative of the Benefit Rockateur powder. I don’t personally own Rocketeur so I can’t comment on the similarities but I’d say The Honey Queen Honeycomb Blusher is sort of a cross between a blush and a bronzer. It contains peach, beige, coral and lilac hexagons which all contain lovely shimmer which gives the skin a lovely glowy, brightening effect. Personally I like to swirl all the shades together however, you probably could use them individually but it make take a little more manoeuvring of your brush which I’d think would be much more time consuming.
Rimmel Apocalips in Apocaliptic and Aurora – £2.99 each
I mentioned previously in my Products Worth The Hype post that I really liked the Apocalips in the shade Galaxy as I got on well with the formula so I thought it was about time that I bought myself a couple of the other shades in the range and that’s exactly what I did. In Boots and Superdrug the Apocalips retail for around the £6 mark which isn’t too steep but I recently spotted them on the Xtras website for a mere £2.99 each which is a great saving in my eyes. The shades I opted for were Apocaliptic, a super bright, bold hot pink fuchsia that is sure to turn heads. And Aurora, a bright red toned coral. Again, it’s a very bold shade. I’m super glad I picked both shades up as I really like them and can see myself getting some good use out of them during the hot Summer months when I feel a bright lip is more acceptable and easier to pull off.
Maybelline Jelly Glow Studio Blush in Pop Pink and Fresh Pink – £2.99 each
The last two things I got were products I’ve been trying to track down for months upon months. They’re the Maybelline Jelly Glow Studio Blushes. If you’re not familiar with what they are, they’re basically super smooth lightweight blushes that have a jelly texture. Yup, that’s right. I searched high and low for these badboys here in the UK and discovered that it was probably easier to win the lottery than it was to find the Maybelline blushes instore or online. I’d basically given up hope and quit the search. Then when I was ordering my other products, I found them. Honestly? I was literally over the moon when I spotted them, I still am in fact. The shades I ordered were Pop Pink, bright red toned pink and Fresh Pink, a slightly peach toned baby pink. Both colours are right up my street and I think they will be perfect to use as bases for my powder blushes.
