A thank you for your support and chat about changes to Raspberrykiss…
It feels like yesterday I reached 2,000 followers over on the fab Bloglovin and now I’ve hit 3,000. Honestly? I’m beyond grateful. Over the past few months despite not been as active on my blog as I would have liked to have been due to things like work commitments and life events I’ve thoroughly enjoyed writing on Raspberrykiss and all the fantastic feedback I’ve gotten.
I also feel like in recent months although I haven’t posted as much I feel like my content has ever so slightly improved and that I put a lot more effort into each individual post which surprisingly has improved my views so I’m guessing because of that, people maybe find my blog slightly better? Until recently I took blogging very differently. As sad as it sounds I felt like I HAD to put new content up every single day or at least try my hardest to. Because of this I put pressure on myself to put content up for the sake of putting it up and often that content wouldn’t be 100% perfect or quality. At that point I felt like it was sort of becoming a bit of a chore even though I was still enjoying it. I then took a step back and looked at my life as a whole. For lots of people blogging is their full time job, they’ve made a career out of it and they can put lots of effort in and spend all day doing all things blog related (Heck I’d love to write and upkeep Raspberrykiss as a full time job!) but for me that isn’t possible. I work full time and when I do have spare time at the moment I’m spending a lot of it trying to sort out a plan for moving into a flat with the other half. Because of these two things and of course having a sort of social life, I don’t have as much time to blog as I’d like.
Blogging is and probably always will be my escape and one of the things I enjoy most in life. I can’t see myself ever giving up blogging but I’m finding as I get older I’m having to prioritise other things in my life more which I think is understandable. I’m also finding myself interested in things other than beauty such as cooking which you may have noticed from my recipe posts. At first I was a little nervous about sharing the posts as I thought because many people were reading because I typed about beauty products, they wouldn’t be interested. But when I stepped back I realised that Raspberrykiss is MY blog and essentially I can fill it with whatever content I want but because I’m sort of a people pleaser, I still didn’t want to put up content that people weren’t interested in. Anyway after a long chat with my family, I took the leap and I’m certainly glad I did as I feel like my recipe posts add another dimension to my blog and of course it is nice to write about a different topic every once in a while. I don’t know why I was so worried about how people would react as each recipe I post seems to go down pretty well. Because of this I’m also thinking about adding more lifestyle content in. Of course my blog will always be predominately Beauty related but I feel like I do want to explore other topics in the future.
Basically I wanted to clear up a few things as to why I’ve been a bit more quiet than usual and why there has been some non beauty related posts but more importantly I want to say a massive thank you to each and every one of you who takes the time to read my blog and to those who have followed me. It means more to me than you could ever imagine and makes me utterly happy. I know it sounds cheesy and lame but blogging is one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. It has given me confidence, an outlet to go to when I’m feeling down or need to escape, friends who mean the world to me, opportunities that I couldn’t have dreamed of and A LOT of happiness, so thank you.
Although I’d love to give each and every one of you a gift to thank you for your support, I sadly don’t have the funds to do so (If I win the Euromillions tonight I’ll arrange a gift for every single one of you, promise) but I do have a little bundle for one of you to win.
