Want to see what products I loved throughout August 2014?
This month’s favourites post is a bit of a short one with only three products included. Honestly? It isn’t that I’ve fallen out of love with makeup, skincare or beauty products or that I haven’t been using much, it is just that I’ve still been enjoying previous month’s favourites, hence why there are only three new favourites included. I’m sure when September arrives my favourites post will be jam packed full of products as I have quite a few interesting things to try out, some of which I think I’ll end up loving. Anyway, here are my three favourites:
Miners Volumising Maxi Mascara in Carbon Black*
This is hands down one of my favourite mascaras, not just a monthly favourite but a firm all time favourite. I’m obsessed with it. Although it is called “Volumising” I’d say it is definitely more lengthening. It gives my lashes incredible length and although it doesn’t add much volume it does slightly make my lashes look a smidgen thicker than usual. At less than £3.50 it is a gem. It is also available in two shades Black and Carbon Black. Now I do like both but I find Carbon Black just gives a more intense and glamorous look which is perfect for evenings out and dramatic looks. Next up I have been loving this gorgeous eye shadow paint. Normally I wouldn’t even attempt to use eye shadow paints or even buy any for that matter as I’d assume they’d be messy and poor performing however, a couple of months ago I ordered Rich Russet along with Golden Bronze after seeing countless YouTubers and Bloggers rave about these affordable cream shadows. Although I like both I find myself reaching for Rich Russet slightly more as I find it just works better with my skin tone. I find it is a great product to create a very quick but pretty eye look when I’m in a bit of a rush or can’t be bothered to create a full made up look. I really like how long wearing Rich Russet is and of course the colour its self which is a stunning warm toned brown with a beautiful metallic finish.
Finally I’ve been really enjoying the Revlon Matte Balm in Showy Flamboyant. I remember a few months back I really, really enjoyed this shade but because I’d bought other lipsticks, lipglosses and stains, it sort of got shoved to the back of my makeup drawer however, I was doing a little reorganising and discovered it again and have thoroughly enjoyed sporting it ever since. It is a nice bright blue toned bubblegum pink that makes the teeth appear brighter and whiter. It is a fun shade to wear and the matte finish helps when it comes to longevity.
