Review | Estee Lauder DayWear Sheer Tint Release Moisturizer

When I received this product in the post I was over the moon. I’d heard a lot of great things about it and was an eager beaver to give it a go. So what is this product that I am talking about? It is the Estee Lauder DayWear Sheer Tint Release Moisturizer. Not heard of it? Well it is a lightweight tinted moisturizer which is said to enhance any skintone with a healthy, even-toned glow. It is also said to defend against the appearance and signs of premature ageing thanks to its Anti-Oxidant power. It is also said to improve things like dullness, fine lines and dryness, making skin feel smoother and look instantly fresher. The product retails at £38 and is available to purchase on the House Of Fraser website as well as in store. For the price I was expecting a really great product but to be honest with you, I’ve tried better. Don’t get me wrong I do like it but there is one thing I hate about it. Let me explain, the formula of the cream is lovely. It is very, very lightweight and sinks in well. Once on, my skin is left feeling really smooth and weirdly (in a good way) plumper, almost as though it has had a good hydrating. Anyway, I love the way it makes my skin feel and look, at first but then the tint kicks in. Once its on my skin for around ten to fifteen minutes it turns a really, really orange colour as though it oxidizes. No matter how much blending I do, it just does not look good. I look almost like an oompah loompah which isn’t great to say the least. I think if I were to have warmer and darker skin it wouldn’t be so bad but as a pale cool toned gal, this does not work for me unfortunately.
What is your favourite tinted moisturiser?
