Want to hear my thoughts on the Yankee Candle Sugared Apple Wax Tart?
After trying out the Yankee Candle Candy Cane Lane Wax Tart I thought I’d try out some of the other more festive like scents in my ever growing wax tart collection. I opted for the Yankee Candle Sugared Apple Wax Tart. I’m sad to say it but I didn’t quite enjoy this tart as much as I have with others that I have previously tried. Don’t get me wrong it was a nice scent but I was left feeling a little, shall we say let down and underwhelmed due to my expectations, Let me explain, Yankee describe this as a sugared apple tart that smells of sweet, juicy apples sprinkled with sugar and vanilla. Would I agree with that? Well to be honest I could not detect any apple whatsoever. Instead it was basically a sweet, slightly vanilla like fragrance with a hint of spice, sort of like baking which was nice but I was really looking forward to the apple and unfortunately it did not seem to make an appearance. I don’t know whether this is just how the scent is or if I received a dud but when I think of sugared apple, it definitely is not what pops into my mind. For the throw I found it did fill my room nicely so not all was bad. Yankee also state that the burn time is 4-6 hours and I would have to agree with that as by the four and a half hour mark I found the scent really rather hard to detect as it had faded away. Then again, it retails at just £1.20 on the Yankee Direct website. Would I repurchase this scent in candle or wax form. Honestly? No. I feel like there are much better scents (both ones I’ve tried and of course ones that are waiting to be discovered.) I guess my quest for a good apple scented candle will continue.
