Super Easy Berry Smoothie
When it comes to getting more fruit in my diet I find a great way in doing so is in the form of juicing and by making smoothies. Now I know smoothies aren’t the healthiest of things as they contain a lot of sugar, albeit natural sugars. However, sometimes I just crave a good smoothie as opposed to a bar of chocolate. Plus it’s not like I drink smoothies every day of the week. Heck, I sometimes they’re a monthly thing for me. Regardless I like a good smoothie. Not often but as a nice little treat. Catch my drift?
Anyway, when I do have smoothies I find they are absolutely brilliant for breakfast. Especially when I need that good sugar boost to start off the day. Plus they’re rather filling too which is great. I’ve tried a lot of different combinations but this is certainly a favourite of mine. I call it the Super Easy Berry Smoothie because that’s really what it is.
What does it consist of? Well to make it I simply get my blender out and throw in half a cup of milk. I opt for semi-skimmed but any is good. I then chuck in half a cup of strawberry yoghurt. For this, I use Easiyo which is mega easy to make. Then finally, I throw in half a cup of frozen berries which includes strawberries, raspberries, red currants, black currants, cherries and blackberries. I then simply blend and serve.
I will say that the smoothie does contain a few seedy bits so if you’re really not a fan, simply sieve the smoothie before serving and that will get rid of any unwanted bits. The result? A thick, sweet and tasty drink which is very nice indeed!
