Want to hear about three products that I think deserve more hype?
My makeup collection is home to many, many lip product varying in price range. Although many people would argue that the higher end lipsticks and glosses are better, I think that quite often the highstreet, more affordable and “drugstore” brands often do them better. Take the ELF Studio Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red for example. This is a product that is super easy to apply with precision thanks to it’s shape, it is your classic red colour and it lasts all day long. I used to be a little weary of reds but recently I’ve really took a liking to this and I’d even go as far as saying I think it is better than my MAC RiRi Woo lippy. Shocking, I know.
W7 Perfect Eyes Eyeshadows – 99p
If it is affordable yet highly pigmented eyeshadows that you are after, I seriously urge you to check out these little gems. I own around 10-15 different shades of these and I absolutely love them. They are have really great colour pay off and the texture is wonderful too, albeit a little odd. How you ask? Well they’re mega creamy but not quite cream eyeshadows. Because of this they are easy to blend and apply but I do recommend applying a primer underneath, just to prevent any creasing on the lids from occurring. My favourite shades are Sandy, a lovely bright highlight shade, Raspberry Fool, a very pretty baby pink shade and Hot Chocolate, you guessed it, a chocolate brown colour, perfect for anyone who likes safer shades. Oh and the best thing about them? They’re available on the East End Cosmetics website for less than a pound each!
ELF Eyelid Primer in Sheer – £1.95
The final product that I think deserves more love is the ELF Eyelid Primer in Sheer. Now I have tried the other shades of this primer and I’ve got to say, I wasn’t too impressed but Sheer is one I repurchase time and time again. If you enjoy the famous Urban Decay Primer Potion, this is a wonderful and much more affordable alternative. I just find it creates a good base for my eyeshadows, increases longevity and for the days when I go shadow free, it even cancels out any redness/blueness on the lids, making me look that little bit better and more awake.
