Want to hear my thoughts on the Chantel Martin Mint Chocolate Candle?
When it comes to candles I am a huge fan. My favourite brand would probably have to be the Yankee Candle Company as I find their candles are top quality and the scents they produce are fantastic. However, another brand I have been enjoying has been Chantel Martin. The brand was created by husband and wife duo Paul Martin Barratt and Chantel Barratt. The brand was created when the pair were unsatisfied with the candles currently on the market and so they decided to take a fresh approach. Their ethos is to ensure that all their candles are personally hand crafted and finished to the best possible standard. Their candles consist of tailor made scents, 100% cotton wicks and the traditional candle material, paraffin. One candle which I have seriously been enjoying has been the Chantel Martin Mint Chocolate Medium Apothecary Jar Candle which retails at £9.99. This candle contains 160g of wax and is said to last between 30 and 35 hours. As you can see the candle comes housed in Chantel Martin’s simple yet classy glass packaging and the wax its self is a layered green and brown colour combination, very fitting for the scent in my opinion. In terms of the scent smell it is a blend of dark chocolate and mint. It is basically an After Eight lovers dream. In terms of the scent throw I found that although not poor, Mint Chocolate was unfortunately not capable of filling my large blogging room with its scent however, it is a candle I like to keep on my desk when I’m blogging away as the aroma is detectable from an arms length away. I also find the scent is much more of an evening fragrance rather than something suitable for daytime as it is really quite indulgent. For the price I honestly don’t think it is too bad. I do kind of wish that the scent was stronger but that’s just something I have to deal with I guess. In terms of the lasting power of the candle, I’ve been burning my candle on and off for a few months now for a few hours at a time and my candle still has roughly a third of wax left so it certainly has lasted me well. The one thing I will say is that when I first began using the candle I did find the wick to be quite long and it did require a trim so I would advise you maybe purchase a wick trimmer if you’re thinking about ordering this candle. Apart from that though, I have enjoyed burning Mint Chocolate and will continue to do so with the remaining bit of wax that I have left.
