When it comes to fragrances one of my favourites lately has been the Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge. This fragrance is an amazing combination of rich rose and ripe fruits. It is said to be an oriental scent however, I’d say it is a cross between a floral and a fruit mix. What I really love about it is that unlike many fruit/floral scents on the market, it isn’t sickly sweet. Instead it is elegant and mature without smelling granny like. In fact I’d even say it has a slight sexy vibe about it. For the fragrance notes, it has top notes of Red Currant, Raspberry, Pink Pepper and Saffron. Middle notes of Bulgarian Rose, May Rose, Jasmine and Magnolia Petals. And it has base notes of Patchouli, Vetiver, Madagascar Vanilla and Ambrette. Honestly though? You really need to smell this fragrance in the flesh as the description doesn’t even do it justice.
In terms of the lasting power, I find this fragrance lasts really, really well on me. I can spritz myself in the morning and by 5pm it is still detectable without top ups, then again it is good to keep in mind that this is a eau de parfum so good quality was kind of expected. For the silage, it is extremely good. For me I find when I wear it, it is very detectable. So much so that whenever my mam pops in she can always detect the scent when she walks through the door. For some people this might be a bit too strong but I really like my fragrances to be powerful. Because of the fragrance’s strong and powerful nature, it’d say that for many people Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge is definitely more of an evening fragrance as apposed to a daytime fragrance, although I personally wear it whenever it takes my fancy, which recently has been almost every day for the past month or so. But is this scent suitable for this time of year? I think it is great for the Autumn and Winter months however, I have no hesitation that I’d also wear it during Spring and Summer months.
Personally I love Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge and I will most definitely be repurchasing a bottle in the future when my current bottle runs out. I think if you like scents such as Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb, Chanel Chance and Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium then you’ll probably really enjoy this fragrance but you really do need to smell it in the flesh. The only real downside to Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge is the price tag. It is one of those scents that is rather pricey. For example, 30ml retails at £45.00, 50ml retails at £64.00 and 100ml retails at £90.00. Having said that, this is a really good quality parfum so a higher price tag than usual doesn’t surprise me at all. Plus, if you do shop around and take advantage of sales and discount codes, you can get your hands on a bottle for much cheaper than normal. All in all, I like Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge and would highly recommend checking it out. Oh and I liked it so much that I even gave it a mention in my September 2015 Favourites post.
Have you tried this fragrance? What did you think of it? Were you a fan like me?
