The first product I’ve been loving throughout October has been the Natural Spa Factory Champagne Bathing Nectar. This is a super luxurious product that would make the ideal Christmas present for any bath fanatic. The bathing nectar is a Champagne extract infused product that contains liquid gold. It is rich in vitamins A, D and B as well as amino acids which are said to help with the metabolism of skin cells. The nectar has a quite thick consistency but once you run it under the warm running tap, it melts into the water and the liquid gold dissolves leaving a very slight shimmery look to the bath water. It isn’t glittery or in your face, it is subtle and pretty so there is no need to worry about getting out of the bath looking like Edward Cullen. As for the effect on the bath water, it softens it but it doesn’t give a greasy or oily feel. The scent is musky and creamy but delicate and subtle which I suspect is down to the Amber that it contains. It’s just a lovely product that soothes and slightly moisturisers the skin. Makeup Revolution Ultra Velour Lip Cream in Move Your Mouth Forever
The second product I’ve really been enjoying throughout October has been the Makeup Revolution Ultra Velour Lip Cream in Move Your Mouth Forever. As a whole I really like the Makeup Revolution range of Lip Cream but I’ve just found myself reaching for Move Your Mouth Forever more and more on a daily basis. In terms of the shade it is a really quite light nude shade that has a slight peachy look to it. I think for many people this would be a shade too light and very concealer like but for my pale complexion I can get away with it. One thing I will say is that you really do need to ensure that you thoroughly exfoliate your lips with this shade. This is the case with all lip creams but I’d say it is a particularly essential step if you’re planning on sporting this shade. If you don’t prep your lips properly then this shade is going to look streaky and quite frankly a mess. However, if you carry out your lip prep then you can achieve a really nice and even finish. The end result? A very toned down and suitable for everyday lip shade that will go with virtually any eye makeup combination.
Now I know, I know, plugging my own products is a bit lame! However, I seriously have a genuine love for this necklace. It isn’t your typical fashion/costume piece, it has a slight boho vibe to it and it can be worn with a whole variety of looks. I’ve always been a fan of crystal jewellery and this is a piece I am obsessed with. It is a simple Amethyst Crystal Pendant which comes on a classic silver coloured link chain. Each crystal is unique so colouring does differ from piece to piece but I think this adds to the whole feel of the piece. I’m currently selling the piece for £4.00 however, if you use the code OCTOBERFAVOURITES you’ll get 10% off the Amethyst Crystal Pendant Necklace which makes it that little bit more affordable.
Another bath product that has made it into my October 2015 favourites is The Body Shop Spa Of The World Egyptian Honey and Milk Bath. Now this product was apparently inspired by the milk and honey bath of Cleopatra but The Body Shop version contains three oil extracts that are designed to leave the skin feeling really smooth. The finely ground powder product comes in a nice little brown bag along with an adorable little wooden scoop to help you pop the product into your tub. Once the product hits the water it soon transforms into a very milky substance which is very softening on the skin plus it has a beautiful delicate aroma to it which helps you to unwind, relax and chill. I also find that whenever I use this powder my muscles, aches and pains are relieved nicely. It is a little on the pricey side at £14.00 for 250g but as an occasional bath time treat I think the product is great. And last but not least is the Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep. I actually received this product not long ago in the post and since the first use I’ve been in love with it. The product is actually really quite unique in the sense that it was designed to stimulate all the skin’s deep sleep mechanisms to ensure that no matter how many hours sleep you have, the skins nightly functions will remain at their optimum. The actual product texture is kind of a hybrid of a balm and a gel. It is really cooling and soothing like a classic gel but at the same time it is very rich like a balm. But does the product work? Yes! This was something that really surprised me if I’m honest. When I first read the claims I was a bit skeptical. There was a lot of eye rolling and I was thinking “yeah right, pull the other one” but seriously, it does the trick. I personally have a pretty poor sleep pattern. Although I do try to get as many hours sleep as possible and I aim to go to sleep at a relatively early time, sometimes it just doesn’t happen as I really find it hard to switch off. Sometimes I end up falling asleep at 3am and waking up at 8am which isn’t really ideal and it does show in my skin. However, since using this product I’ve not only noticed an increase in hydration, I’ve also found that the green tea and jasmine fragrance helps me to unwind and calm down that little bit extra which in turn sets me up for a better nights sleep. I’m not saying it completely knocks me out but it does help with my issues which I certainly cannot grumble about. If you do want to hear more about this product then do keep your eyes peeled as I’ll be doing a more in-depth review of this in the very near future.
Have you tried any of these product? What did you think?
