The Great, Cheap But Unusual Lip Moisturising Treatment: Superdrug New Mum Nipple Cream

When it comes to my lips I’m always on the look out for new lip moisturising treatments. I get very dry and cracked lips, no matter what the season. This can get very frustrating for me but I guess it’s just something I deal with. Not long back when browsing the Superdrug website I discovered the Superdrug New Mum Nipple Cream. I always tend to purchase the Superdrug My Little Star Large Cotton Wool Pads (I mentioned these in my April 2016 Favourites) which are from the same range and since there’s almost always some form of multi-buy deal, I also picked up a tube of the nipple cream. Why did I purchase the unusual product? Well, I thought it could work well as a lip moisturising treatment.

I know many people may be a little confused, however, I’ve heard of quite a pricey nipple cream working well as a lip moisturising treatment so I thought I’d give this more affordable version a try. In terms of my feelings towards the nipple cream, I’ve been left feeling very surprised by this product. It softens and moisturises the lips very, very well. However, I find the key to its success lies in when you apply this cream. Now I’m not going to lie, this cream isn’t fast absorbing or what I’d consider to be luxurious feeling but it does work. In terms of texture, the cream is quite thick and definitely on the greasy side. Many people would probably hate the feeling of this on the lips. However, if you apply it right before bed and leave it on overnight, it works its magic.

Fantastic for the price

In terms of the price tag, this product will set you back just 99p. Or even less if you get it as part of a multi-buy offer. In terms of how it works, I’m not going to lie, I’m not a chemist. However, I suspect it works due to its list of softening and moisturising ingredients. Ingredients include Glycerin, Water, Sunflower Oil and Lanolin. Obviously, because of the Lanolin the product is not vegan-friendly however, it is vegetarian-friendly and cruelty-free for those who were wondering. Another thing worth mentioning is that this product is fragrance-free and when applied on the lips it has no unpleasant taste or scent which is always a huge plus. I’m definitely going to be repurchasing this product when I finish my current tube as it is extremely effective and great value for money.

Have you tried this lip moisturising treatment? What did you think of it?
